The #MeToo Takedown
Thank you, Graham Platner
Isn’t it great that this past week, Graham Platner, that Nazi-tattoed, women-bullying brute, won his primary and became the Democrat nominee for Senate from the state of Maine? I think it’s terrific!
What???
His victory, and the endorsements he received from many corners of the Democrat Party, from women and from men, have put the final nail in the coffin of the #MeToo movement, that all women should always be believed about aggressions from the opposite sex.
Kudos to you, Graham Platner, freshly married who sent dick pix to other women.
Atta boy Platner, who three women described your romantic relationship with them as “volatile and toxic” and who said you were “demeaning…and at least in one case, even physically threatening.”
Yes, you, Graham Platner, you’ve done American men a huge solid.
Why? Because back in the day, at the height of #MeToo era, Platner’s behavior would have punched his ticket to cancel-ville.
Oh, how the times, and the tunes, of Democrat politicians, have changed.
New York’s junior Senator Kirsten Gillibrand would have been holding news conferences, calling him unfit to be in the US Senate. After all, she built her career around combating sexual violence in the military, on college campuses and on Capitol Hill.
She famously led the #MeToo push for Minnesota Senator Al Franken’s resignation, when he was accused of unwanted sexual advances on women.
But when she met with Platner in Washington, DC, just before his primary win, she did not publicly criticize him. She says she has “confidence” in him.
And what about Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren? She enthusiastically endorsed Platner’s primary push.
Remember the debate when she was running for the Democrat presidential nomination in 2020? She famously confronted Mike Bloomberg regarding non-disclosure agreements signed by former female Bloomberg employees alleging sexual harassment and gender discrimination. She aggressively pressured him to release those women from their confidentiality agreements.
Warren was the one who introduced the Sunlight in the Workplace Harassment Act, that aimed to force publicly traded companies to disclose any settlements related to sexual harassment or discrimination.
And she too chimed in on the Al Franken affair. She said “women have the right to be heard.”
Now, about Platner, Warren says she’s “proud to endorse him” and on the campaign trail she described him as “my kind of man.”
To be fair, it’s not only female Democrat officeholders who have moved on from #MeToo.
Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders said the movement was a vital catalyst for a necessary “cultural revolution in this country.”
Back in 2018, he also pushed for Franken to resign and said at the time, “The way we treat women in our country has been abysmal in almost every way.”
Now, Sanders says the explicit text messages Platner sent to women is an issue “between Graham and his wife…Is he a saint? I guess not. I don’t know too many saints here” meaning the US Senate.
Apparently, when it comes to winning back the Senate from the Republicans, #MeToo is just #TooMuch.
The #MeToo movement demanded the immediate resignations and cancellations of men accused of verbal or physical aggression against women. There was no, I may not be a saint, but who is, defense.
Also, so-called micro-aggressions, like if you said to a female colleague, “nice dress” or “great tan” or “you look tired”, would have jetted you non-stop to the human resources department. There, you would have been reprimanded and possibly sent to a re-education course where you would learn just how much of a misogynist you actually were. And if you resisted and didn’t drink that kool-aid, you would have been suspended or fired.
The #MeToo movement demanded zero tolerance. All women had the right, not only to be heard, but to be believed. Graham Platner and the Democrats’ capitulation to political expedience, has ended all that.
So while I’m not in the habit of praising politicians for endorsing a Nazi-tattooed, misogynistic creep of a candidate, their hypocrisy, their burning desire to reclaim the majority in the US Senate, has left #MeToo, if not dead, then at least, on life-support.
Thank you Kirsten, Elizabeth and all you Platner-supporting Democrats. And a special, hearty thank you to Graham Platner himself, the Democrat nominee for the US Senate from the state of Maine.
The #MeToo takedown; It not only took a village, it also took a Nazi.

It is beyond my comprehension to understand how anyone could vote for a man with Platner's background. What has happened to the concept of shame? What has happened to common sense in this country? Answer: they have been perverted by politics. Too many of us have lost the ability to think for ourselves.
Makes you wonder what Franken and other accused harassers think now? Next thing, Dems will have Cosby & Weinstein as guest speakers in the convention.
